I live just around the corner and can't believe I haven't found this little gem yet! They have a great menu with variety. The hot & sour soup is amazing and is the best in the area, you can surely tell it is homemade with fresh vegetables. Portion sizes are heavy and the fast service on a togo order has sealed the deal! I have been there twice this week! Please no judging! lol For all those curious and actually read these reviews, this place is a great restaurant!!

Very prompt and delicious Chinese food. Closed Mondays. Szechuan chicken dinner (spicy sweet sauce) is delicious, as is orange chicken and bean curd (tofu) and vegetables. The family that owns the place is very kind. There is a small eat-in section (4 small tables and 2 big ones?) but most people do take-out and it is now my go-to take out place in NE GR.

Best Chinese Take Out In GR! Love the sesame chicken, especially in the combination meal where you get an egg roll and fried rice...how can you go wrong. The couple who own the place are always very nice...very fast, typically 10 to 15 minutes from call in order to pick up. In a town with more than it's share of awful Chinese food take out and garbage Chinese buffets, Rice Wok is a little diamond, tucked away in a nondescript strip mall!

As a Chinese I will tell you this is topical American Chinese food. So it is not very authentic. I rated four stars because taste-wise is pretty good as being a family owned small take out place. It is even better some Chinese restaurants in Grand Rapids. The whole family with kids are always hanging out there. Everyone is very friendly. Price is very good.

Always cooked fresh after you order, but the wait isn't too long unless you're in line.

I am a chicken fried rice junky. It does get any better than at Rice Wok.

Great food, quick, and good prices for the amount of food you get. One dinner could last me 3 days. That's usually the case with Chinese but this place isn't overly priced.

After trying a variety of dishes, I can say confidently that the Rice wok has excellent Chinese food, reasonably priced. Very efficient and friendly owners.

This is my favorite takeout Chinese restaurant in the area. The family that owns the place is so nice, the food is consistently very good, and the prices are reasonable. Yummy!

Awesome Chinese food! Best in the area by a lot. Great service, fast, and friendly. They remember me every time, even if it's been a while. My order is always right and delicious. Lunch and dinner combinations are a great value. I suggest the chicken with broccoli and shrimp rolls.

I really love this place and I definitely go there for Chinese takeout a lot more than I should! It's family owned and operated. Fast and friendly service. The owners are super kind and their adorable young kids are always there too, so watching them make a ruckus is always a treat as I wait for my order :) Their "Bean Curd (Tofu) & Mixed Vegetables" dish is a vegetarian's dream come true. And they always make it extra spicy for me! They're very good about making accommodations or variations to their dishes to suit different tastes or dietary needs. I'm also a big fan of the their vegetable fried rice. Their food is delicious, inexpensive, consistent, and their portions are very generous (I always get enough to have a leftover meal the following day). It's more of a takeout spot than an eat-in place, but they still have a small eat-in area that's always clean and tidy, as is their kitchen and waiting area. Rice Wok is by far the best Chinese takeout I've had in GR so far in 5 years I've lived here. It's a pleasure having them nearby.

For a little hole in the wall this place has some pretty authentic dishes. Lunch combo is 5.25, feeds 2 people, and comes with a soda. Great deal!

Soo good! One of the best Chinese take outs around. Definitely becoming a regular and definitely recommend this place!

Great food, value and service! They are so friendly and always willing to customize or make something special if needed. Everything is always made fresh to order and very quickly. I absolutely loved being so close by and count always count on it for lunch or dinner.

It's not the most amazing but it is consistent and pretty much what I want from take out Chinese. Friendly, quick service and on the cheap side. A good lunch, quick bite place but don't go to be blown away. They have a pretty roomy dining area that I've only seen someone eating in once before, so if that's your thing there's plenty of room!

Rice Wok serves outstanding food and they always have a smile for me. Our faves have to be the sweet ad sour chicken, crab ran-goon, Mongolian Beef and of course their little donut balls covered in sugar. We go here at least once a month. The prices are very affordable. The restaurant is always immaculately clean looking. I love Rice Wok!

I ran in here only because it is close to home and my daugher requested Chinese food. The guy who took my order and cooked was quite nice, and the food was ready quickly. I ordered pork lo mein and white rice for my kids and they chowed down, pronouncing it delish. I confess that I only tried a bite of each container, but the bites I had were really good. I will definitely be going back again. I only wish they had tofu.

I was fairly disappointed in Rice Wok. I went to it because I live right around the corner - the food was bland and very heavy. It gave me a "Chinese food hangover". Also, it was pretty pricy for classic Chinese food.

My wife, daughter and I stopped here today and the food was wonderful. The service was excellent and will recommend this to everyone. My 2 year old daughter just loved the lo mein noodles and crab rangoons. Thanks to a friend at work for the recommendation (Thanks Eric).

My experience with Rice Wok is limited to their soups and some appetizers, but everything I have had has been outstanding, and very fresh. I usually get their hot n' sour soup, and I must say, it may be the best I have had, anywhere. It's loaded with egg, there is a nice kick to it, and lots of variety. Plus, it comes with crispy fried noodles on the side for a little crunch. I've also had their dumpling soup, which too was great, and loaded with their home-made dumplings and chunks of pork. Rice Wok's kitchen is right behind the counter, and often you'll catch a glimpse of the cook preparing your food. The place is always very clean, and the workers are appreciative of their customers, many of whom I seem to see in there every time I am there. Being near where I work, they are an office favorite, and I have yet to hear a complaint about any dish from Rice Wok.

Rice Wok is my favorite cheap Chinese restaurant in Grand Rapids. The staff is extra friendly (family owned and operated) and the menu has all the classics. Their fried rice always tastes fresh and the veggies are always crisp. It's also quite inexpensive. Rice Wok has been our go-to quick and cheap takeout for 2 years now and will continue to be for a long time.

AMAZING Bourbon Chicken. The fried rice is perfect also, nice and greasy. Very nice people run this place as well.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
